Meet Linda! Linda is our Intervention Specialist for our Drug Endangered Children’s Initiative. Linda joined us in March of 2023. Her job is to serve as a Resource and Intervention Specialist, assisting families with children who have been impacted due to substance abuse. Linda works alongside our DECI Clinical Advocate Hafsatu Stevens and other agencies to assist with client needs.
Linda chose this position because working with children and families is her passion! From her perspective, the Family Center is different from other service agencies because we tend to be client centered. Linda feels she truly makes a difference in her work when a parent or adult gives her positive updates on the children she has been working with. Such occasions include hearing when children are thriving or when the child themselves can identify as doing better because of her efforts and direct assistance. If Linda could make one big, positive change to the world, it would be to continue providing resources, information, and safe spaces for people to better themselves and their situations.
Linda has worked in the non-profit/human service sector as well as education and working with youth for over 15 years. She is currently enrolled as a sophomore at UMass Boston, working on her degree in Psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, all forms of art, spending time with her family, volunteering at local commissions, & working with girls and young women.
