COVID-19 Greater Plymouth County Response Fund

United Way of Greater Plymouth County is asking for your help in fighting for the health of our local community’s most vulnerable neighbors against the devastating impact of COVID-19.
If you can, please make a donation to our COVID-19 Response Fund that will be used in innovative ways to help families and individuals in greater Plymouth County to promote health in these unprecedented times.  Along with Education and Financial Stability, Health is major area of focus for our United Way, so it makes sense that we must respond to help during this crisis.
Because our mission and our work to “improve lives” has always depended on our establishing and building caring partnerships in our community, we need your help now!

We are already working with our front line community partners to identify the most immediate needs and to ensure resources collected by this fund will be directed to them without delay.

Community Needs

Utilizing the experience and wisdom of our critical front line United Way community partners, the resources collected from the COVID 19 Response Fund will be used judiciously and creatively to help as many people in need as possible, including but not limited to the following immediate needs: 
  • Food assistance:  Getting meals and food supplies to families and seniors who are most vulnerable to the virus itself and the economic downturn it is causing
  • Housing, shelter, and utility assistance:  Providing resources for families and individuals to use who are jeopardy of losing their housing or emergency shelter. 
  • Basic needs:  Providing essential items that promote good hygiene that can help impede the spread of the disease (disinfectant, detergent, wipes, and other personal care items) for families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet.
  • Transportation assistance:  Helping people getting to and from needed services and resources

Our United Way and our Family Center are working to refer and provide assistance to calls in need of resources coming to our office.  We also encourage utilizing United Way’s statewide assistance and referral line Mass 2-1-1 which is available 24/7, confidential and multi-lingual.  Please call 2-1-1 or visit www.mass211.org.
