Local Consumer Program

United Way's Family Center is proud to serve as the Local Consumer Program (LCP) for Greater Plymouth County in partnership with the Attorney General's Office.  More information about how the LCP may be of assistance can be found here

We can help with a number of local consumer issues including:

  • Defective products
  • Car sales and financing
  • Auto repossession issues
  • Debt collection
  • Mortgage servicing and loan modification
  • Home improvement contract issues
  • Business closures
  • Utility bill disputes
  • Solar Panel installation and contract issues
  • Issues specific to immigrants, veterans, homeless and elder residents

To file a claim, you must call them directly or go online to: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/file-a-consumer-complaint. LCPs welcome walk-ins, preferably between the hours of 9 am -2 pm, Monday - Friday. MA AGO CARD (Consumer Advocate Response Division) refers all complaints to LCP offices throughout the State.

We offer Mediation services through a voluntary program at no cost to the consumer. We do not offer legal advice; we do not act as your attorney, and the MA AGO will not act as your attorney. This is a voluntary program between the consumer and the business. Even though the Business is not required to participate, most do.

We are happy to assist you with your Consumer Complaint. We look forward to offering you assistance.
