On September 11, United Way of Greater Plymouth County brought people together for a day of service, connection, and giving back during our annual Day of Caring.

More than 100 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and spent the day lending their time and talents to 15 nonprofits throughout the region. From hands-on projects to helping organizations prepare their spaces and support their programs, volunteers stepped in wherever they were needed most.

Day of Caring is a reminder that making a difference doesn’t always require a big commitment. Sometimes, it starts with showing up, working alongside others, and giving a few hours to an organization that is doing important work in our community.

For our participating nonprofits, having a group of volunteers come together can make a tremendous difference. Projects that might otherwise take weeks to complete can get done in a single day, while volunteers bring fresh energy, new perspectives, and an extra set of hands to organizations that serve our neighbors every day.

But the impact goes both ways. Volunteers also have the opportunity to learn more about the organizations in their own communities, see firsthand the work being done to support local families, and connect with people who share a passion for making a difference.

We are incredibly grateful to every volunteer who participated, as well as the 15 nonprofit organizations that welcomed our volunteers and helped make the day possible. Your generosity of time and talent demonstrates what can happen when we come together with a shared commitment to strengthening our community.

Thank you for making Day of Caring 2026 a success!

Whether you volunteered on September 11 or are looking for your next opportunity to get involved, there are always ways to give back. Your time, talents, and energy can make a meaningful difference right here in Greater Plymouth County.
