United Way of Greater Plymouth County Announces Bill McCann of Wells Fargo Advisors as New Campaign Chair

BROCKTON - United Way of Greater Plymouth County (UWGPC) announced at its recent 96th Annual Meeting and Campaign Celebration that Bill McCann, longstanding United Way advocate and friend will soon take on the role of UWGPC Campaign Chair.  
 
“We are overjoyed to have Bill join us as our new UWGPC Campaign Chair!” said Dennis Carman, United Way President & CEO. “Bill is very compassionate and community driven.  He understands the needs of our local neighbors and has the skills and talent to be an incredible asset this upcoming campaign season.”
 
Bill has been a longtime United Way supporter, having served as UWGPC Campaign Chair for three consecutive years over a decade ago, from 2005-2008.  Bill was a UWGPC board member for over 12 years, and served as Chairman of the Board from 2010-2012.  In April 2017, Bill was inducted into the UWGPC Volunteer Hall of Fame.  
 
Bill grew up in Brockton, and is a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School.  He worked and paid his way through college and graduate school, earning a bachelor’s degree in communications and business from Loyola University in New Orleans, as well as an M.B.A. in Financial Management from the University of New Orleans.
 
Professionally, Bill is currently a First Vice President – Investment Officer, and Branch Manager at Wells Fargo Advisors in Falmouth.  He now lives in Bourne with his wife, Laurie, daughter, Molly, and dog, Pepper.  
 
Bill will officially start in his role on July 1st and will serve through June of 2019. John Doyle, Atlantic Division Manager at UPS and current United Way Board of Directors Chair, is the departing Campaign Chair after a terrific year in the role.
